Donate a tree to the European Festival Forest
We are launching a collaboration with European Festival Forest. An initiative that works with festivals to plant as many trees as possible to combat climate change. The trees will be planted in Iceland, by the Icelandic Forest Service. For €2 they can plant a tree. In the ticket shop of Noorderzon you can make a donation, during the upcoming ticket sales. 30% of this donation will go to the European Festival Forest.
Trees like to gobble up carbon dioxide, also known as CO2. CO2 is a greenhouse gas, and exactly of that we have too much, causing the earth's climate to change dramatically. Reason enough to reduce our CO2 emissions as a society. We already do that as Noorderzon by taking all kinds of measures, and now you can help us even more.
Four trees collectively absorb a tonne of CO2 over their lifetime. That's the same amount as flying to Paris seven times, consuming 319 litres of diesel or breathing for 500 days. Planting four trees in the European Festival Forest costs a total of €8.
Donations can be made at the ticket shop during Noorderzon ticket sales, which start on 17 June. Would you rather make a donation earlier? You can do so via the European Festival Forest website itself: festivalsforest.eu
