The international main programme is complete!
With names from all over the world
With three months to go we’re thrilled to announce the complete main programma today. With lots of great names from all over the world, from Argentina to Palestine and from Australia to the United States.
In the near future, we will of course share many more names from our programme, we will present our &Society programme, including the literature programme and we will share a lot of music, theatre, container performances and more.
Scroll on quickly for the new names from the international main programme ↓
We complete the international main programme with these additions:
Matías Umpierrez - Eclipse (Spain)
You’re invited to attend an exclusive conference of forgotten mask-wearers and secret societies. Matías Umpierrez’ spellbinding solo performance dissects our obsession with (un)becoming ourselves.
Ant Hampton / Time Based Editions - Borderline Visible / Op de grens van het zichtbare (collective experience) (Greece/Belgium)
While Europe is being put into question, immigration laws sharpened, and climate change nibbles at the fringes of our comforts, Ant Hampton’s Borderline Visible collects all uncomfortable unseen stories into one collective experience.
Gravity & Other Myths - The Mirror (Australia)
Beautiful, quirky, explosive new circus from Australian superstars Gravity & Other Myths, who return to the festival with their very own inimitable blend of joyous entertainment, playfully bent humour, and frankly stunning acrobatics.
Guillermo Cacace - GAVIOTA (Argentinia)
Sitting around a table, covered in crisps and wine, the audience gathers around five women. Love, broken ambitions, and a melancholy of unspoken longings; this magnetizing reworking of The Seagull from Chekhov has it all.
Peter and Julia - while you were partying (United States)
A heady mix of vulnerable positions and full on hammer strikes, a fresh and funny uncompromising theatre world that digs deep into the ugly side of us to reveal the human beyond.
Peter and Julia - open mic night (United States)
A eulogy for an imaginary DIY venue, where transgression is the norm, and no one ever cleans the toilets. With cheap bear.
Guillermo Calderon - Vaca (Chili)
As extreme right-wing leadership encourages rising class divisions all over the world, one of Chile’s most renowned directors (literally) takes the bulls by its horns in this masterfully crafted political satire.
Jeremy Nedd & Impilo Mapantsula - blue nite to the galaxy around olodumare (Swiss/South Africa)
On 12 July 2022, NASA published images from the James Webb Telescope of galaxies over 10 billion light years away. Can we dance our way to greater understanding about our own place in time?
Leonardo Manzan - Glory Wall (Italy)
Glory Wall by the young trailblazing director Leonardo Manzan is a brilliantly funny assertion on (self)censorship in modern times, with karaoke, rapping, famously dubious dead men, and a big ‘f* you’ to rules and conventions of the current theatre climate.
Yang Zhen / RED Virgo - Hommage (China)
Strongly aesthetic new dance work from China focussing in on critical issues around beauty, gender, image and identity in the post-globalized world, from one of China’s most promising younger generation of directors.
Bashar Murkus & Khulood Basel / Khashabi Theatre - YES DADDY حاضر ياأبي(Palestine)
An elderly man, a young escort, and a night that erases itself. Exploring the thin lines of morality and freedom, Palestinian director Bashar Murkus is back with a multi-layered duet of fighting and embracing human instincts.
