Three new concerts added to the programme

The festival is getting closer and closer, so it's time for another announcement! With three concerts from the music programme today, each of a completely different genre. These include Loverman from Belgium coming to Groningen with dark, cinematic pop and Americana, Ævestaden from Scandinavia with newly composed and traditional music with both ancient and modern instruments, and finally Ensemble Klang with the work Environments by Peter Adriaansz joining us with contemporary music full of harmonies. Ticket sales for these concerts start on 22 July at noon via this website.

We announce three new concerts today:

Loverman - Concert in Pollux
Loverman is the solo project of Belgian artist James de Graef, also known as a member of the quirky rock band Shht. The singer-songwriter makes dark, cinematic pop and Americana, featuring beautiful string arrangements and poetic lyrics. His deep, warm voice is reminiscent of the sound of artists such as Nick Cave and Leonard Cohen.

Ævestaden in collaboration with Stichting Folk - Concert in Pollux
Ævestaden is a Norwegian/Swedish trio playing newly composed and traditional music with both ancient and modern instruments. Lyres, violin, mouth harp, vocals and electronics harmonise together in an idiosyncratic soundscape. The songs are about the conscious and the unconscious - secular and sacred - about life and death.

Ensemble Klang / Peter Adriaansz - Environments | in collaboration with Soundsofmusic

Environments is a personal musical investigation into the relationship between individual and society and our changing sense of time. Composer Peter Adriaansz places the listeners at the centre, immersing them in a bath of swirling sound, spoken text and lush harmonies. Performed by The Hague-based Ensemble Klang.

Earlier, we announced from the music programme: Arab Strap who will be performing at Vera, and Dylan LeBlanc will perform on the Apollo stage during the festival.
