The courage to keep moving

Luango Stories explores the complex layers of migration. When leaving is the only option for survival, what does freedom truly mean? Perhaps freedom is not a destination, but the courage to keep moving.

About the artist

Juersson Hermanus is a hip hop theater maker and dancer. His work explores cultural identity, history, and physical expression, deeply rooted in his Afro-Curaçaoan background.

He has collaborated with groups such as X_YUSUF_BOSS and Wabi Sabi Theater. With his debut solo performance Yu di Kòrsou, he set a powerful tone centered on freedom, resistance, and community. This piece became the artistic foundation for his further development.

He is currently part of Station Noord, a three-year development program in which he not only deepens his artistic practice but also grows as a creator and artistic leader. Here, he is developing new work that brings together hip hop, traditional music, and contemporary dance.
