Erlend Øye is half of the indie pop duo Kings of Convenience and the singer/guitarist of an electronics-based band The Whitest Boy Alive. However, after moving to idyllic Sicily in 2012, he decided to shift his focus on his solo work, founding La Comitiva together with three local friends. This definitely shows in his music: even on a rainy day he manages to pour out a warm, summery feeling over his audience. The idea behind La Comitiva is to pay tribute to Italian music from the 1960s and 1970s, music full over rich arrangements and warm melodies. Indeed, the perfect music for a warm summer evening and also the perfect closing act of Noorderzon 2023.
