Transport

Festival area the Noorderplantsoen

On foot/by bicycle Coming from the Central Station, you cross the canal via the pedestrian bridge at the Groninger Museum and go toward the city centre. Having arrived at the Vismarkt (one of the central squares of Groningen) you continue straight on, through the Stoeldraaierstraat and the Oude and Nieuwe (old and new) Kijk in ’t Jatstraat to the Noorderplantsoen park. The walk takes about 20 minutes, by bicycle it takes you about 10 minutes. Cyclist can place their bikes in one of the many bike parks at the festival grounds. At the central station - and some other places in the city - you can rent bicycles. Click here to plan your route.

By public transport  Groningen is easily reached by train and almost all locations of Noorderzon are easily reached by public transport or by foot from the Central Station. For more information about public travelling, please visit www.9292.nl

Noorderzon bus – Line 1
The easiest way to reach Noorderzon is with Q-link Green line 1. It stops just before the festival terrain at the Noorderplantsoen. During Noorderzon, Q-link Green runs twice an hour from Hoofdstation Groningen, via Grote Markt, to Noorderplantsoen (and back) until just after midnight. From P + R Reitdiep you can also travel to Noorderplantsoen until midnight with line 1. Find the exact times here.

To the Noorderplantsoen: Line 1 from main train and bus station in ‘Reitdiephaven/Station Noord’ direction. Get off at  'Halte Noorderplantsoen'.

From the Noorderplantsoen: Line 1 from the Noorderplantsoen in the direction main train station. Get on to the temporary 'Halte Noorderplantsoen'.

The main train and bus station in Groningen (a.k.a. Hoofdstation Groningen) is easily accessible by train and bus. The Q-link lines run from everywhere in the region into Groningen city centre. The Q-link lines also stop at all the P+R locations surrounding the city of Groningen. Parking there and taking the bus into town is an excellent alternative to driving into the busy city centre.

By car  Because driving in Groningen is particularly complicated, we advise you to consult an up-to-date route planner in advance. The car park nearest to the Noorderzon festival park is ‘Parkeergarage Boterdiep’ or 'Parking Circus'. For more information about their car parks, click here.

Groningen also has an excellent shuttle service (the Citybus) from the big parking lots in and around the city to downtown. Click here for more information about parking and the P+R sites. (Dutch only)

Tip: Plan your trip using this handy trip planner via Groningen Bereikbaar.
