Please note: performances labeled as “limited accessibility” take place in the upper hall. You will need to climb a staircase to get there. If you have difficulty walking, unfortunately, there is no way to access this hall.

The Grand Theater on the Grote Markt in Groningen is a beautiful flat floor theatre. Built in 1929 as a cinema, it has been a theater since 1980. The lower room of the Grand Theater has many possibilities and is therefore very popular with theater makers and visitors from all over the world.
Accessibility
The Grand Theatre is partially wheelchair accessible. There is a wheelchair-accessible restroom on the ground floor. Performances in the upper hall can only be reached by stairs; these are marked as “limited accessibility” on the program page.
