Meet four Noorderzon crew members!
Over the past few weeks, we've been introducing you to someone from our volunteer group through our social channels. We spoke in detail to all four volunteers about their functions and what it's like to help with the festival. Are you interested in coming to help? Below we explain what the different functions entail and you can read what Brigitte, Maarten, Henk and Noah think about it.
Brigitte de Ridder
Brigitte has been a volunteer at Noorderzon since 2017. Her enthusiasm radiates when she talks about working at our festival. Brigitte indicates that there is something to do at the festival for everyone who wants to become a Noorderzon crew. ''We always look at the possibilities.'' Noorderzon therefore ensures that the festival is accessible to everyone and we hope that everyone feels welcome. Do you speak little or no Dutch, but the English language is not a problem for you? Even then we would like to welcome you to Noorderzon!
Ticket sales/information
point As an employee of the ticket sales or information point you are the first point of contact for our visitors. They can contact you with questions, you help them familiarize themselves with the program and help them with the purchase of tickets. The majority of our tickets are sold through this website, but tickets will also be sold on location for specific performances.
Maarten Neeb
Maarten has been a volunteer at Noorderzon for ten years now. Years ago, he was urged by acquaintances from the liberation festival to start working for Noorderzon. Since then, Maarten has fulfilled the role of bar head. The team feels like family from the start. And now he is – lucky for us! - can no longer be ignored at the festival.
Horeca & Catering
Noorderzon is building various catering points (bars) in the Noorderplantsoen. Different drinks, soft drinks, coffee and tea are served at each bar. Each bar is led by bar heads. If you register as a bar manager, wine specialist or beer specialist, you must be present for at least 4 days.
Henk van der Werp
Henk has been part of our enthusiastic volunteer group for almost seven years. In addition, he is the example for the 'Noorderzon family'. What do we mean by that? Well, after Henk started as a Noorderzon volunteer, his children and wife soon followed his example. The whole family now belongs to the Noorderzon crew. By pretending that the tickets for a performance had to be scanned above your head, the atmosphere was already set a few years ago. And then the program had yet to begin.
Audience guidance / ticket control
As an audience guidance you work together with the rest of the crew on location to make sure everything runs smoothly. You answer questions from visitors, point them to their seats and help prepare the room. You can also be used to scan and check visitor cards. You visit many different locations and you work together with other volunteers.
Noah Krill
Noah started at Noorderzon 6 years ago. First with the cleaning service and as a traffic supervisor, and now she can no longer be ignored during the construction of the festival. What does she love about being part of the Noorderzon crew? According to Noah you work with a lot of nice people, you can develop yourself socially and personally, you gain a lot of experience - and not unimportantly; it is very pleasant within the team. Technique
All performances and concerts cannot take place without technicians. In the technical crew you help our technicians to support this.
