An electric, full-bodied shout into the future

Globalization is not just about the economy but also about youth, and imaginable futures. Guangdong Modern Dance Company dive headfirst into the burning questions of a next generation: how to be resilient, how to fight for something, how to find your tribe. A celebration and rallying cry in one, Burning Marches fuses street fashion, Cantonese rhythms, and urban-coded choreography into one fierce dance-explosion.

Following the acclaimed success of Hommage at Noorderzon last year, rising Chinese choreographer Yang Zhen returns with his bold and distinctive aesthetic combination of urban movement and Chinese street fashion. Zhen unveils a vision where young people come together to navigate between hope, expectation, and raw emotion in a rapidly changing world.
