Heartefact

A (dis)tasteful story about a boy who managed to survive. A heartbreakingly gentle collection of traumatic childhood memories. And finding solace in food, especially hamburgers. In this one-man (or rather one-boy) monodrama, legendary Dutch actor Simon Versnel of the Belgian dance company Peeping Tom beautifully cuts through themes of guilt, love, sexuality and finding one's place in the world. A Short History of Burgers and Other Stories is a desperate quest to understand reality, laced with memories of food and the people who left a bitter aftertaste. The performance was created by Serbian director Andrej Nosov and his company Heartefact, as a result of a research project on memory after death, in collaboration with DAS Theatre Amsterdam.

Heartefact has developed into one of the main players on the independent theater circuit in Serbia and the region. Besides theater productions, which are the main focus of their work, Heartefact participates in organizing numerous festivals, exhibitions, competitions, various exchange programs and supports youth through grants and other forms of cooperation.
