Alogte Oho & His Sounds of Joy

The sun automatically starts shining when Alogte Oho enters the stage. Maybe not in a physical sense, but definitely in your heart. Together with his ‘Sounds of Joy’ orchestra – an octet with vintage keyboards, a tight brass section, drums, percussion and soulful background harmonies –  Alogte offers a playful mix of gospel, folk and reggae. All delivered in Frafra, a language only spoken in Northern Ghana. Everywhere where they appear, their aim is to promote precisely that what’s in their band name: the joy of music.
