Each building has its own sounds, tones and noises. Sound artist Bouke Groen has created a unique musical composition especially for Noorderzon within the spaces of the Provinciehuis. For this, he mapped the sound characteristics of the Provinciehuis, using noise measurements.

How does the Provinciehuis at the Martinikerkhof sound?

The composition, written by Pelle van Esch, is sung a cappella in the various rooms by the Vocal Ensemble A Capelli. As an audience, you move through the building together with the choir, making yourself part of the performance. Project Overtone offers an intimate experience to discover the Provinciehuis in a special way. The performances on Saturday 4:00PM and Sunday 5:30PM are wheelchair accessible.
