Is it finally possible to let those 20th Century zombies go?

Every country has its traumas. In Spain it is a war fought in the 1930s between the grand-parents of a current generation of 20- and 30-year-olds; a so-called Third Generation after the War, and the first generation to be able to finally start talking about it. But what should be the language of that conversation? Meaningful philosophical words? Oh, so sad Songs?

About the artist

Around 2005, writer and theater maker Celso Gimenez, together with Itsaso Arana and Violeta Gil, formed La tristura, the collective with which he has been working ever since. With the company he starts an extensive research and creation project. Some of their performances are Future Lovers, Renaissance (both performed at Noorderzon) and CINE. He searches for the boundaries between documentary and fiction, presentation and representation and is convinced that intimacy and poetry are essentially political concepts
