Rich harmonies with energetic violin playing and piano

Three of the four band members of FARA come from the Orkneys, and you can hear that in their music. A mix of traditional Orkney music and self-invented violin arrangements, with compelling vocals. Ever heard of Orkney? It is an archipelago of about 70 islands situated between the Scottish coast and the Shetland Islands – an area with a long and rich history indeed. Though it fell under Norwegian rule up to 1472, the music from these islands is mainly Scottish-influenced. Three of the four Fara band members originate from the Orkneys, which clearly resounds in their music: a mix of traditional Orkney music and their own self-composed violin arrangements with immersive vocals. These lively arrangements are full of rich harmonies and energetic violin and piano playing. There’s also another thing that will make this concert special: it is the band first performance ever in the Netherlands!
