Powerful guitar tribute to Welles’ filmic genius

A true guitar legend, who played in Captain Beefheart and collaborated with none less than Jeff Buckley, Leonard Bernstein, Lou Reed, Patti Smith, Bryan Ferry, Nick Cave and many more. At Noorderzon, Grammy-nominated songwriter and composer Gary Lucas accompanies a screening of the silent comedy Too Much Johnson (an – until 2008 believed lost – film by the great film director Orson Welles) with an original psychedelic solo guitar live score.

The inchoate genius of Orson Welles further illuminated by the ingenious musical inventions of Gary Lucas.
