In a no less than brilliant setting, audience favourite Mariano Pensotti presents two different moments in architect Manuel’s life simultaneously in Los años. The present, in which Manuel is 30 years old as well as the future in 2050, when he’s 60, are both visualised spectacularly at the same time.
While working his outdoor job, the young Manuel runs into a child from the slums with such a peculiar life history, that he decides to follow the kid around for a month and document his life. Unexpectedly, this documentary proves to be Manuel’s big break, making him world-famous overnight. Thirty years later, Manuel comes back with the intention of finding the subject of his famous documentary for a sequel. However, the child from the past doesn’t appear to be easily found, and ultimately Manuel comes to realise that his ideas about the future do not correspond with current reality at all. Leaving us the audience with some universal questions. Such as: what can we expect from the future? And how will we later look back on the present? What would you like to change? The famous Argentinian director Mariano Pensotti is a popular regular guest at Noorderzon, for the sixth time now featuring prominently in our programming.
