Music of the people, in a summer jacket

Minyo Crusaders is a band with a mission: it wants to give the Japanese min'yō genre back to the people. Originally, min'yō were the typical Japanese working songs sung by people such as fishermen, miners and sumo wrestlers. However, over time, this musical genre changed into a sterile art form, only performed in concert halls. What a shame!, the Crusaders thought, so they came up with this idea of mixing min’yō with other international regional music genres, which do remain true to their roots such as Cumbia, Reggae, Salsa, Latin and Afro Beat. The result? Inventive arranged music with punchy melodies, horns, vocals, percussion, guitar, it’s got it all. In short: passionate summer music which will definitely make you dance!
