Simple truth can be tricky, especially when in foreign places

Welcome to this intimate journey for you and about 40 other ‘tourists’. On a tiny stage, different objects seem to appear and disappear in no time. Light and shadow, analogue images, delicate mechanisms, paper and tin miniatures alternate. Poëtisc inventions, which take you back to former times, to the moment – or the feeling – that your toys actually were alive.

About the artist

Shaday Larios of the Mexican company Microscopía and Jomi Oligor of Hermanos Oligor make their first appearance at the Autumn Festival with The melancholy of the tourist. Without losing the individual poetic approach that is unique to both makers, this piece exposes a critical view of the imagination about paradise. Oligor and Microscopía - two historical documentary theatre companies - explore this fantasy with their characteristic language consisting of objects, mechanisms and miniatures.
