The queen of frafra-gospel

Florence Adooni comes from Kumasi, the second largest city in Ghana. She is considered the leading musician of highlife music and the vibrant gospel of the local ethnic subgroup Frafra. Highlife music is a Ghanaian music genre that originated in Ghana in the 19th century, combining African music with Western jazz melodies. Her eye for talent, charm and soul ensured that her debut single 'Mam Pe'ela Su'ure' has gained much appreciation in Ghana and around the world. Percussion, polyrhythms, synthesizers, delicate brass and psychedelic funk guitar give pace and mood to her music. Add her gospel voice and you're almost in heaven. Will you come dance with us under the stars?
